*Using techniques from capoeria from Brazilian martial arts, yoga from Indian arts & release from contemporary dance

ABOUT THE DANCE FORM
B-Boying started during the late 1970s in the Bronx, NY and is a foundational element of Hip Hop culture along with DJing, MCing and Graffiti art. The term "B-Boy” or "B-Boying" which refers to the dance, moves and lifestyle originated in New York and was coined by Kool Herc who was one of the pioneering Hip Hop DJs throwing jams in the Bronx. Today, an evolving and well connected B-Boy and B-Girl scene thrives around the world.

This communication is primarily through a beautiful phenomenon called DANCE by virtue of which I communicate & exist. My life was an intricate labyrinth until I discovered dance that gave not only a definite purpose to my life but also re-defined it with substance. Being an introvert, dance and movement opened a new dimension in my life where I could express myself and discover my ingenuity & pre-dilation for visual arts. Dance keeps the child in me alive, who wants to fly the horizon, learn the impossible & master the imagination.

He is undoubtedly a person who can be best described as an 'authentic mover'. He embodies the rare and unique characteristics of someone who is constantly thirsty to educate himself and break down ideas into their fundamentals in his unending quest to find his own personal truth about movement. An independent and critical thinker, Pratik seldom lets himself approach life solely on its face value. His strong individuality combined with a rich passion for dancing are expressed in everything he does. He emanates a deep and pure energy which not only makes him a fabulous dancer but an even better partner.Having trained in several forms of dancing, Pratik does not let himself be confined by the labels of a belly dancer, salsero, ballerino, jazz or hip-hop artist. His mind, body and soul embody all the characteristics into a singular art of movement. To him dance forms are merely the branches of a tree, whose roots are one and the same.
